When Mahakarunika Kalyanamitra Tathagata Lord Buddha was propagating Satyamma for the benefit of Bahujana for the happiness of Bahujana, Kausal entered the Janapada and started teaching Dhamma to the people, his Dhamma education made the subjects interested in Satdhama. People started to behave in a moral manner. Like others, Raje Prasenjit noticed the change in people's behavior. The state was pleasantly surprised to see the change taking place in the people. He immediately obtained information from the minister of state as to where Lord Buddha was staying and went to meet the Tathagata with some of his trusted bodyguards. At that time, Tathagata Lord Buddha was preaching to the people Satdhamma, the natural law of Buddhadhamma. King Prasenjit sat in the dhammaprabodhana sabha listening to dhammagrita and began to attain dhammananda, engrossed in dhammashravana and began to enjoy supreme peace. After some time, after the Tathagata's Dhamma enlightenment was over, King Prasenjita saluted the Tathagata three times and said, "Lord! Bhi Kosala is King Prasenjit. I am blessed by your darshan and Dhamma enlightenment. Please come with the Bhikshusangha to the royal palace tomorrow for food and let me enjoy the merit of food donation." Tathagata Buddha smiled and gave consent to Prasenjita. After obtaining the Tathagata's consent, King Prasenjit left for the royal palace with his associates.
As planned, the next day the Tathagata Lord Buddha appeared with his noble band of monks for a meal in the royal palace of Prasenjita, the king duly felicitated the Tathagatas and the band of monks and personally gave them the first five-course meal.
After the meal, the Tathagata sat on the high Dhammasana prepared for the Tathagata and began to teach the Dhamma, King Prasenjit began to listen to the Dhamma with his family members and his subjects and colleagues. I request you to explain briefly." In reply the Tathagata Lord Buddha said,
Sab papass akaran kusalass upasampada sachit periyodpana and buddhanan sasanam .."
Rajan! Abstaining from all sinful actions, acquiring virtuous actions and purifying one's heart is the essence of Dhammashikavani, the Buddha taught.
Hearing this, King Prasenjit was surprised and said, "That's it! Such a simple simple Tathagata. It is so simple and simple that even a child of three or four years old can easily understand it."
Lord Buddha said with a smile, Rajan! Rightly said, this dhammatattva is the essence of the Dhamma, this Buddha's teaching is so simple that even a child of three or four years old can understand it; But Rajan! Even an old man of sixty or seventy years. Even a great minister or an emperor like us cannot properly practice this teaching in life.'
King Prasenjit said, "Tathagata! What is the reason for this?" In reply the Tathagata said, "Because 'there is a great gap between understanding and actual practice. There is a huge gap.
Rajan! Don't do cruelty to animals, don't steal, don't lie, don't commit adultery
Don't, don't drink alcohol, follow morals, don't hurt anyone's heart
All these things are very simple and easy to understand. But
They are equally difficult in practice.
Rajan! There is a huge discrepancy between human knowledge and behavior. It is very difficult for a human being to put a little bit of knowledge into actual action and to lead his life accordingly, to act according to knowledge.
But why does this happen? Because of human nature and ignorance on the mind and coverings of craving-disorder. And until man is completely freed from the disorder of craving, ignorance, greed, passion, hatred, understanding and actual conduct, 'knowledge and so on, it remains impossible to put it into action. remains inconsistent.
But Rajan! In the 'understanding and conduct' of the truth-teller, Hum
And there is never any inconsistency in actual action."
Impressed with joy and filled with faith and devotion, the king said, "This is wonderful." Wonderful! A lamp in the dark to fix what is broken, or to reveal what is hidden, or to show the wayward, or for those who have eyes to see.
What a wonderful thing that God taught Dhamma in many ways.
Lord From today until the last breath in my body I surrender to the Buddha, the Dhamma and the Sangha. Henceforth you me yours
A surrendered worshiper should know. After that, King Prasenjit, his family members and associates saluted the Lord and chanted three holy chants.
Buddha Saran Gachchami!
Dhamma Saran Gachchami!
Sangh Sarana Gachchami!
(Sabba Papassa Akarnam... This story is used by the Tathagata Buddha many times while explaining the Dhammasara to the monk Ananda, twelve hundred and fifty arhats, two old women and many others.)
